India has successfully conducted a trial run of the high-speed ‘Vande Bharat’ train on the world’s tallest railway bridge, the Chenab Bridge, in Jammu and Kashmir. The bridge, constructed at an elevation of approximately 1,270 feet, is a remarkable engineering feat.
Supervised by the Western Indian Railway Corporation, the Chenab Bridge is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project (USBRL), aimed at connecting key locations in Kashmir. The successful test marks a significant milestone in boosting connectivity and development in the region.
The project is expected to enhance tourism, ease transportation, and integrate the region more closely with the rest of the country.
